Just wanted to thank you all once again for a fantastic stay. I was really happy to see the new improvements.
The new Galley is great. I tried it three times in the short break and each meal was great value, filling and super food. (Really enjoyed the Milkshake, Ground Coffee and in particular the special Satay / salad chips etc. Keep up the good work and see you next month ..Des
Fantastic 3 days of diving on Celtic Kitten with Dave. Everyone very friendly, will definitely revisit.
We visited Porthkerris every day last week to fish, and it was so good to see the litter problem has more or less been resolved.
The fish were biting Thank god, or else hubby would not have been happy!
Love PorthKerris and all that is stands for. Keep up the good work!
Had a great day out with you guys – the group really enjoyed it.
made me laugh to hear 2 of them after the Vase rock dive say it puts Egypt to shame for a scenic dive !!!!
You have a great set-up there and I wish you all well for the year – perhaps with the TV programme by Paul Rose you will get divers from the UK appreciating how good OUR diving really is. They only need to visit once to see how world class, Cornish diving is.
Will be back shortly

Have just arrived home after another 5 nights at Porthkerris. Fantastic time as always. We brought the club rib down despite the windy forecast and had great dives on the manacles as the area is pretty good in all weather other than easterly wind. Viz was around 8 – 12 metres which is fabulous. Vase is spectacular at the moment.
I am a long time fan of this area and wholehearted recommend it to all. By the way I am not a local and travel 232 miles each way about every two months as its that good in my opinion.
Thanks to Jo and Mike as always along with Dave, Sarah, Daz, Fin etc.
One thing I have to say again is the new galley is really great. Do try it as I definitely want it to stay…. The owner Jules is really working to make it better and better and although I have a van on site I ate there as did all of my club every day. Super work …
Kind regards and see you all very soon

Just done the advanced diver course at Porthkerris with my wife and John M, with Jeremy instructing! What a fabulous weekend, great staff, great location and great diving. My wife and I dived in the Maldives a month ago, and I would not swap it for the diving in Cornwall. Diving for me is all about the whole experience…not just visibility!!! There was sooo many fish, soft corals, wrecks. I would even go so far as to say I quite like reduced visibility…I find I focus on what is around me better, and having the unknown around me makes my senses tingle. It all seems like a dream world ( no I did not have narcosis !!,!)
I would like to thank the team down at porthkerris , Dave and sarah, Daz, Finn and Jeremy, the crew in the beach cafe, and owners mike and Jo.
As for our next experience…as Dale Winton would say….BRING ON THE WALL! (and it's jewellery anemones) 10/7/11
My Brother and I are used to diving in Egypt every year however we thought we would try out British waters. We didn't know what to expect from Porthkerris, but both TOTALLY LOVED it! The staff are so friendly and helpful. Darren our guide was brilliant. The shore dive (Drawna Rock) is really interesting and has many routes and ways round it. The water was cold but the buzz of it all soon masked that and the visability was good enough (5/6m) to see everything and make it a rewarding dive when you did see things. The reef has lots of life, great kelp jungles to go through and we just loved it. The food is great from the cafe (carrot cake!) and the campsite on the top of the cliff was great, we stayed there 2 nights with the beautiful view of the sea having BBQ's etc – it was a great weekend! Thank you very much and we are looking forward to coming back as soon as we can
Thank you!!
My two sons and I hadn't dived for nearly 18mths, but wanted to do the wreck divers course. I was a little apprehensive prior to the course but needn't have been the team at Porthkerris were really helpful and made us feel totally at ease. The diving was great experiencing diving on 3 different wrecks in all, much more than expected. Thanks to Dave and Darren for being our teachers, guides and buddies and to Simon for taking the photo's for me. Also thanks to Sarah for arranging the course. All in all a great experience which makes me want to go back again. Thanks!!
At the risk of sounding like a comments page stalker…i need to add something to my previous comments! As an anniversary celebration, my wife and i thought we would do a few boat dives instead of spending the money on something that would be floating off Porthleven a few hours later. OOOOOhhhhh MMMMMMyyyyyy GGGGGOOOOODDDDDD! VASE ROCK!!!!! Absolutely stunning! We dropped down on a slack tide to be confronted by a huge granite wall covered by jewel anomes of different colours. Vase is described as being shaped like a wedding cake with a pinnacle approx 5m from the surface, followed by plateau and vertical sides, then another plateau , and more vertical sides, theres a trench also. diving over it was stunning, with huge boulders, caves etc. It was covered in fish, sponges, corals, urchins etc. It had to be the best dive yet!
In the afternoon we did the wreck of the Volnay, which we have heard some belittle compared to the mohegan and speridon, but we found the opposite! it is a fascinating wreck with cod and many other fish, huge boilers etc ( though i think the empty packet of walkers salt and vineger crisps floating around on the seabed may have been a more recent artifact!) There was a short mast with the most beautiful huge anemones of white, yellow and green.
Finn and Dave , who skippered respectively, did a great job of describing the sites, and overseeing the safety etc…we both came home buzzing with experience!
We recently returned from the annual Chelmsford Dive club trip to Porthkerris and just wanted to say that we have yet again been really impressed with the whole operation.
I had some very positive comments about Mike’s skill & approach from a lot of the group, including some quite experienced divers who have experienced the usual type of skipper we get on other coasts who barely communicates and drops you in wherever it is convenient to them. The dive briefings were excellent and the marine knowledge and local history outstanding. Six good dives on a weekend when the whether was not very favourable is an excellent result
As usual the boat (Celtic Cat) was excellent and the lunch a very nice touch that we all appreciated. Mike can justifiably be proud of the whole operation and himself particularly
Please pass on our thanks to the whole team for a good weekend – and many of the guys(and girls) are already planning to apply for next years trip
I dived with Porthkerris in early October, and I would just like to say what a really good experience it was. Mike and the team are all very helpful and knowledgeable about the local sites. They couldn't do more for us, and we were dropped right into the exact spot where intended. Varied dive sites with some nice wrecks. Better vizability than I had expected, and a good tap to wash kit afterwards, well equiped little shop, and loos right there and chips in the cafe too. I'll be back!
